Lempriere Harrington Pty Ltd is an Australian-registered private company advising owner-led businesses across Victoria on structure, contracts, transactions and reporting.
The practice
We kept it small on purpose.
A great deal of advisory work is sold by one person and performed by another. We built the practice so that cannot happen: the adviser who takes your first call scopes the engagement, does the work, and signs the recommendation.
That places a hard ceiling on how many engagements run at once. It is the trade we chose. In return, nothing about your business has to be re-explained to a second team, and no part of the file is unfamiliar to the person answering your questions.
We are based in the Melbourne CBD and work with businesses throughout Victoria — on site where the work needs to be on site, and by correspondence where it does not.
Every engagement ends as a document you can hand to a board, a bank or a buyer.
What we believe
Three positions that shape every engagement.
Advice in writing
A verbal opinion cannot be tested, revisited or shown to a director who was not in the room. Ours is written, dated and reasoned.
Know the edge of the mandate
Tax positions, licensed financial product advice and legal opinions belong to your registered tax agent, licensed adviser and solicitor. We say so early, and we work with them.
Who we work with
Privately held businesses that have outgrown informal arrangements.
The common thread is not an industry — it is a stage. The business is real, the decisions have consequences, and the governance has not caught up with the trading.
Owner-led companies
Founders and family shareholders who need the structure of the group and the ownership of it to finally agree with each other.
Boards without a secretariat
Directors meeting properly for the first time, needing papers, minutes and a decision trail that would survive later scrutiny.
